Community service, voluntary and honorary commitment has a long tradition worldwide. In many municipalities and cities, important areas of life are significantly shaped by volunteers. The culture, sports, education, and political life in the communities is mainly supported by voluntary work.
However, voluntary commitment is not the same everywhere. This can be seen, among other things, in small and medium-sized communities, which are finding it increasingly difficult to engage their civil society meaningfully. Therefore, measures are required to counteract this development.
Since communities have started to recognize how important the participation of voluntary associations are, we also have created framework conditions to promote voluntariness, to improve its attractiveness and recognition, and are also increasingly consciously aligning with our states policies to make volunteering fun.
This is a future-oriented development, especially when those who work voluntarily and on a voluntary basis are involved in the process and their competencies are picked up. At this point, it is also good to note that only partnership-based cooperation between municipalities and associations promotes sustainable processes and contributes to the success of the civil society.
